POSITION TITLE: Grade Level V: Nurse

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
Grade Level Principal

LEVEL: Educational Support Personnel
12-Month Position

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Experience or Training:

Possess valid Registered Nurse (RN) State Certification; aptitude for working with children.

Desired Experience or Training:

Understanding of school procedures.

Special Requirements of the Position:

Evidence of successful work experience and of a strong attendance record; ability to work well under pressure.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in providing emergency care in illness and/or injury for general school population.

2. Maintain all student health records

3. Maintain infirmary care facility.

4. Conduct vision and hearing screening.

5. Conduct conferences with parents and students regarding heal issues when appropriate.

6. Assist during pre-registration.

7. Maintain Health Service equipment and supplies.

8. Attend Special Education Department staffing when appropriate.

9. Prepare health-related reports.

10. Participate in special programs and other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the administration.
