Reports to: Executive Director Talent Systems & Strategic Operations
Grade 405

Salary: $97,569 - $117,552
FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Position Purpose

Provides strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for employee records management and Talent Management systems (HRIS). Oversees the integrity, security, and optimization of employee data, records processes, and HR systems to ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. Leads efforts to align technology, data governance, and records management practices to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and decision-making across the district.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Directs the systematic maintenance, security, and integrity of employee records.
  • Leads HRIS systems design, implementation, and improvement.
  • Oversees creation, maintenance, digitization, and archiving of employee records.
  • Establishes data governance standards and records protocols.
  • Directs system upgrades and integrations.
  • Analyzes and reports workforce data and metrics.
  • Manages research requests, audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of employee data.
  • Collaborates to improve processes and automation.
  • Oversees vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Develops procedures and training materials.
  • Monitors trends and implements improvements.

 

Safety

 

  • Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

  • Directs daily operations of Systems and Employee Records teams.
  • Allocates resources aligned to district goals.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, and makes recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills. 

 

Travel Requirements

 

  • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

 

Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards

 

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
  • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
  • Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
  • Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

 

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required;
    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Certification/License: None.
  • Experience:
    • 4 years' experience leading HRIS strategy and operations; experience managing employee records or data governance functions; demonstrated leadership in a collaborative environment.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) working proficiency preferred in some settings.
