Required Training and Education
- Requires a Utah State Board of Education (USBE) approved cleared criminal background check.
- Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Applicant must either have a current Professional Utah Elementary teaching license or a current out-of-state professional elementary license.
- Previous K-12 classroom teaching experience required
- Instructional Coaching Endorsement required or willingness to obtain within the first two years of employment.
- Educational Technology Endorsement Preferred

Job Summary
The Technology Coach will be the instructional technology integration coach and school network support facilitator for one or two elementary schools. This position will provide coaching, training, and support to assigned schools in using technology to enhance instruction and increase student learning. The Technology Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding of evidence-based technology-enriched instruction for teachers. This position will require spending time in classroom coaching, teacher mentoring, and technical support throughout the school.
Essential Functions
- Provide individualized classroom-based coaching with teachers to support them in implementing effective technology-enriched instructional practices
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based technology-enriched instructional practices that result in increased student performance
- Assist teachers in creating materials that are aligned with the Utah Core Standards and enriched with educational technology
- Work collaboratively with other instructional coaches, curriculum specialists, and district specialists
- Create positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and staff
- Support the network engineer with the setup of personal computers and workstations, including operating systems and application software
- Train students and staff on effective use of current technology applications
- Provide technical support to students and staff
- Assist in troubleshooting basic hardware and software problems
- Possess a working knowledge of computer operating systems, Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office 365, internet, mobile devices, interactive whiteboards, and other current classroom technology
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
- Communicate with parents through conferences, telephone calls, e-mails, student planners, school website, and other appropriate means as required by position
- Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff regarding the student's academic and personal growth areas.
- Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are essential functions of this position.
- Create an effective learning environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school district and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings as required.
- Participate in appropriate educator evaluation procedures as per district guidelines.
- Administer group standardized tests in accordance with state and district testing procedures as required by position.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, colleagues, and members of the community.
- Understand and adhere to laws, district policies, and procedures.
- Maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, school staff, district staff, and members of the community.
- Demonstrate professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
- Be a positive role model.

Working Environment
- Supervision of students requires both indoor and outdoor responsibilities (e.g. recess duty, gymnasium activities, etc.) in all types of weather and air quality.
- Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Physical Demands
Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Ability to talk or hear. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to focus. Physical demands require moving and lifting supplies, equipment, etc. up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- While performing the duties of this job, the Technology Coach is regularly required to speak and/or hear. The Technology Coach is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The Technology Coach is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel and must occasionally climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- The Technology Coach must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
