Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:
Milford High School & Applied Technology Center is seeking an additional Assistant Principal to join a collaborative and student-centered administrative team. Serving approximately 600 students, as well as students from surrounding sending towns who attend our Applied Technology Center, Milford High School & ATC is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all learners.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven educational leader who is passionate about supporting both students and faculty. We are seeking an individual who demonstrates strong, ethical leadership, values collaboration and shared decision-making, and is committed to building and sustaining a positive school climate and culture. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, a student-first mindset, and the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic leadership team dedicated to continuous growth and excellence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of Milford School District policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations and laws.
Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, school operations, and student services.
Knowledge of current research of school improvement practices and methods for raising student achievement.
Demonstrates educational leadership conducive to a positive learning environment for students and staff.
Effectively communicates with diverse groups.
Maintains confidentiality.
Motivates, encourages, and works with staff to ensure outstanding performance, as well as good morale.
Understands evidence based progressive discipline practices to ensure a positive culture and climate for students, and staff.
Excellent planning, organizational, management, and oral and written communication skills.
Excellent human relations skills.
Knowledgeable about special education, 504 and other educational laws.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's Degree with a major in Educational Administration.
Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience and prior experience in an educational leadership role.
Prior experience supporting student life through student management, behavior support systems, and initiatives that foster positive student engagement and school culture preferred.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Certified by the NH State Department of Education as a Principal (0003) or as a Associate Principal (0007).
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SCHEDULE: FTE = 1.0, year round position.
