We are seeking a motivated and experienced Truck Driver to operate a company truck and transport essential materials between our facilities, vendors, and job sites. You’ll be a vital part of the BSIS and Vantage Team, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. This role directly supports operations, assists with material management, and contributes to efficient warehouse and shop operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll maintain a safe and organized operation.

 

Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles (26–28 ft., over 10,000 lbs.) in a professional setting. CDL not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate box trucks for local deliveries, pickups, and transportation of materials.
  • Forklift experience required – including loading, unloading, and safe material movement within warehouse or job site environments (certification preferred).
  • Experience loading, securing, and transporting materials to prevent damage during transit.
  • Ability to follow DOT guidelines, safety standards, and company transportation policies.
  • Knowledge of hardware, drill sizes, and tap sizes is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
     

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Safely operate a company box truck to complete scheduled deliveries and pickups.
  • Maneuver vehicles into position for efficient loading and unloading of materials.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials to prevent damage during transit.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Comply with all DOT guidelines, safety procedures, and company transportation policies.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure vehicle safety.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Complete all required delivery documentation and company records accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with Management regarding vehicle maintenance, repairs, and preventative service needs.
  • Assist with general warehouse or logistics support tasks when required.
  • Complete all assigned shop tasks, including packing up parts and items.
  • Read and follow blueprints to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and verify pick lists to ensure materials are ready for following days’ work.

 

Work Environment & Hazards

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
  • Operation of power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and drilling machinery.
  • Physical demands include standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to eye, hand, hearing, and respiratory protection.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and safe work practices is mandatory.
     

Special Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions as required for fabrication and welding tasks.

Position Details

  • Full Time, Regular
  • Day shifts, generally 7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm (Flexible start time), some overtime is required.
  • Based in the Bay Shore, NY (In-Person)
