Overnight Yard Jockey LHP
Job Description
Job Summary:
A Overnight Yard Jockey is responsible for the movement and organization of refrigerated box trucks within the warehouse environment. Overnight Yard Jockey will also assist in the warehouse.
Schedule:
Sunday-Friday 10pm-7am
Essential Job Functions:
- Operating box trucks moving within yard and warehouse docks.
- Ensure trucks are properly backed up to docks and positioned for loading and unloading.
- Inspecting trucks for damage or maintenance issues and reporting problems to management.
- Recording and verifying truck numbers and other information.
- Ensure all assignments are completed before clocking out for the shift.
- When required, and within reason, perform additional responsibilities as assigned like cleaning, working in a different role, etc.
- Wearing their steel toe shoes (company does not provide) and safety vest (company does provide) every day for work.
- Attend the pre-shift huddle at the biggening of the shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least two (2) years' experience in a warehouse environment in a similar capacity.
- At least two (2) years' experience of verifiable driving experience, with dock experience.
- Airbrakes experience required.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must have a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Card.
- Good driving record with no traffic violations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to operate automatic 22ft box truck.
- Experience using a forklift or Electric pallet jack, certification preferred, but not mandatory.
- Able to count and build large orders of produce; at times over 300 pieces.
- Ability to commit many numbers to memory in reference to products and orders.
- Possess high energy and a team attitude.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to operate delivery trucks in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
- Must be able to move and lift boxes weighing up to 60lbs.
- Must be able to operate and inspect powered equipment using controls.
- Must be able to see distance, color, peripheral, depth and adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires irregular hours to include overnight, weekends, and some holidays.
- Temperatures can be as low as 35 degrees in some areas.
- Noise level is moderate.
