Position Summary


The Payroll & HR Operations Analyst supports payroll operations, HR systems administration, reporting, and workforce data accuracy across the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring payroll and employee data are processed accurately, maintained consistently, and delivered in a way that supports operational and business needs.


This position is responsible for day-to-day payroll processing support across U.S., Canada, and Europe operations, along with HRIS maintenance, auditing, reporting preparation, and employee support. The Analyst works closely with the Payroll & HRIS Manager to maintain clean data, improve workflows, support compliance efforts, and strengthen reporting capabilities across HR, Operations, and Finance.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Payroll Processing & Support

  • Process payroll transactions and support payroll operations for employees across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, including coordination with payroll vendors and internal partners
  • Review payroll data for accuracy including hours worked, pay changes, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and tax withholdings
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, payroll corrections, and off-cycle payroll processing
  • Support payroll tax troubleshooting, agency notices, and employee payroll inquiries
  • Assist with compliance reporting and audit preparation including EEO-1 reporting, 5500 support, payroll audits, and regulatory documentation requests
  • Gather, validate, and prepare payroll and workforce data for internal and external audits
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with audit standards
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and leaders in a timely and professional manner
  • Enter, maintain, and audit employee data within ADP Workforce Now
  • Support workflow monitoring including job changes, promotions, compensation updates, and organizational changes
  • Assist with system testing, table maintenance, imports, and configuration validation
  • Perform recurring audits of employee records, payroll data, job changes, organizational structures, and system workflows to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Support established audit schedules and document findings, corrections, and process gaps
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and process guides related to payroll and HRIS activities

 

Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Generate recurring and ad hoc reports related to headcount, turnover, payroll, labor metrics, and workforce activity
  • Support the development and implementation of workforce dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics capabilities for HR leadership and operational teams
  • Prepare and validate data used in workforce planning, compensation analysis, and labor reporting
  • Prepare charts, summaries, and presentation materials that translate workforce and payroll data into clear insights for HR leadership and operational teams
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, or anomalies and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Help maintain reporting schedules and ensure timely delivery of information

 

Timekeeping & Operational Support

  • Monitor timekeeping and attendance data for accuracy and compliance
  • Support troubleshooting related to pay rules, time approvals, and attendance tracking
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and operational workflow enhancements
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll and data-related issues

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll, HRIS, reporting, or HR operations support
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HR/payroll systems preferred
  • Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
  • Strong ability to translate complex workforce and payroll data into clear reporting summaries, charts, and presentation materials for leadership audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting multi-state and international payroll operations preferred, including exposure to Canada or Europe
  • Exposure to reporting or dashboard tools such as Power BI preferred
