Description: Orono Early Learning Preschool Teacher.
Be a part of the Orono Early Learning team working to build a solid foundation for children's future school and life success! The Preschool Teacher works under the direction of the Early Learning Coordinator and works closely with the teaching team to plan a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in a child-centered, preschool classroom. The ideal candidate has a passion for supporting young children and their families and working with a team of like-minded people.
Job Summary:

- Keep a strong line of communication open with families that fosters the growth and development of their children.
- Support families in understanding their child's growth and development.
- Work with the Assistant Teacher to provide a nurturing, intriguing and fun classroom for children of multiple ages.
- Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of children.
- Plan and conduct daily activities for children in a safe environment.
- Plan and post a weekly lesson plan.
- Prepare, during allotted "prep time", educational materials needed to implement the daily activity plan.
- Incorporate authentic assessment into your weekly lesson plans. Use results to guide future lesson plans for the group and modifications for individual children.
- Perform bi-yearly conferences and provide parents/guardians with progress reports.
- Attend and actively contribute to staff and family meetings.
- Take initiative and have a willingness to grow in your field.
Qualifications:
- An Early Childhood B-3 teaching license, issued through Minnesota PELSB is required.
- Working knowledge of the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress Birth-5, best practices and strategies, and individual learning styles.
- Experience using Teaching Strategies Gold preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with children and caregivers.
- Demonstration of a warm and welcoming rapport with all children and caregivers while exhibiting strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm, patience, timeliness, problem solving and flexibility.
- Experience and excellent references for helping to create an early childhood classroom that fosters social emotional and academic growth.
- Organized, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities typical in a public school district, 4-star Parent Aware, NAEYC Accredited program.
COMPENSATION
BA Step 1 $34,431.00 to MA Step 12 $53,550.00
