Job Title: EHS Sr. Specialist
Contract: Regular
Location: Seoul
Overview:
This position will serve as the legally appointed Safety Manager (안전관리자) under the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Act. The EHS Sr. Specialist will lead workplace safety management activities, ensure compliance with Korean regulations and company policies, and drive proactive safety initiatives across the site.
The role is responsible for risk assessment, accident prevention, safety training, contractor safety management, and continuous improvement of the EHS culture within a multinational company environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Occupational Safety Management
Serve as the designated site Safety Manager in accordance with Korean legal requirements.
Lead workplace risk assessments and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal and internal EHS standards.
Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and establish preventive measures.
Maintain and analyze safety statistics, KPIs, and required reports.
Manage contractor safety programs and monitor compliance.
Support chemical safety management and MSDS documentation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen workplace safety culture.
2. Emergency Response & Training
Develop and maintain emergency response and evacuation procedures.
Conduct safety education and legally required training programs.
Coordinate emergency drills and workplace safety campaigns.
Promote proactive employee participation in safety activities.
3. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with Korean Occupational Safety and Health regulations and company EHS policies.
Maintain required safety documentation and audit records.
Support internal and external EHS audits.
Collaborate with Occupational Safety & Health Committee and related stakeholders on safety matters.
Qualification:
MUST: Qualified to be legally appointed as a Safety Manager (안전관리자) under the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
8–10 years of relevant EHS or safety management experience, preferably in multinational companies.
Strong knowledge of Korean occupational safety laws and regulations.
Intermediate level of English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Relevant EHS certifications such as Industrial Safety Engineer (산업안전기사) preferred.
