Job Description
Registered Nurse - PCU in Olathe, Kansas. This travel assignment runs for 13 weeks beginning 07/05/2026, with a pay range of $2,080 to $2,187 per week. Shifts are 3x12-hour nights. The role is in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring unit-wide float coverage. This is a travel - temporary assignment managed by Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care to PCU patients within RN scope, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; manage respiratory support such as BiPAP when indicated
- Support patients with chest tubes, PICC lines, and the drawing of own labs when required
- Respond to clinical changes, initiate codes when necessary, and prepare patients for transfer or consultation with specialists
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other care team members; communicate effectively with patients and families
- Maintain proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record and participate in unit-based protocols; float to ICU and other inpatient units as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or a Compact RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHF certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
- Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs is preferred
- Ability to float to ICU and all inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED) and adapt to unit needs
- EPIC EMR experience; strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Availability for the stated shift pattern and travel assignment; new graduates are not accepted
