Job Summary:
As our Fixed Asset Accountant, you will be an important contributor to the financial operations of our rapidly growing company, including providing shared accounting services to other countries. This position reports to the Senior Fixed Asset Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring Fixed Assets registration, control, valuation and record keeping are accurately updated and maintained, and Fixed Assets reporting. You must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of person and should enjoy a fast-paced, start-up environment. The position requires strong accounting knowledge and the ability to understand the big picture while being detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Support shared service fixed asset accounting and ensure proper recording of fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, impairments, retirements, and depreciation of assets.
- Critically review fixed assets and CIP (Construction in Progress) activities for appropriate accounting treatment and develop/maintain strong control processes.
- Prepares journal entries and manages the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Monthly reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts vs Fixed Asset Sub-ledger.
- Ensure compliance with established policies, SOX controls, fixed asset procedures and make recommendations for changes and improvement.
- Interact with internal and external auditors and assist with related audit or reporting deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Assisting the team with accounting issues and queries.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP) and local reporting regulations.
- Ability to efficiently work toward and consistently meet deadlines.
- Perform special projects, other ad-hoc duties, as needed.
- Participate in system enhancements and upgrades in collaboration with the financial systems team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- 3+ years Fixed Assets or General Ledger Accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls, including SOX compliance.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solver, adaptive to fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Microsoft D365 (ERP system), Oracle NetSuite and Blackline will have an advantage.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Skills in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
