
BCHS Family Advocate
Job Description
Boulder County Community Services is seeking to hire 2 Head Start Bilingual Family Advocates. The Head Start Bilingual Family Advocate (FA) works directly with enrolled children and families to support family well-being, goal setting, and access to community resources through the Head Start Family Partnership Process in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, including 45 CFR §1302.91(e)(7). Responsibilities include building respectful and strengths-based relationships with families; partnering with families to identify goals, needs, and interests; supporting family engagement and advocacy; maintaining accurate documentation and confidentiality; and collaborating with education, health, and program staff to support integrated services for children and families. This position is also responsible for eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance (ERSEA). Proficiency in Microsoft platforms, data tracking tools, and electronic communication systems is essential for accurate documentation, case management, and reporting.
This is a Grant Funded position that will work Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:15pm. This position is required to be on site each day in either Boulder or Lafayette offices. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $60,840.00 - $74,178.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:

BACKGROUND CHECK & FINGERPRINTING:

BILINGUAL SKILLS:
- Applicants must demonstrate English Spanish fluency at the time of the pre-employment screening process. Spanish language proficiency will be determined through standardized verbal/verbal and written demonstration. (tier 2 will be verbal, tier 3 written and verbal)
- Additional compensation will be provided based on the use of bilingual skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Current CO State Early Childhood Professional Credential - Level II, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
