The I&E Lead is responsible for leading field-level instrumentation, electrical, automation, and troubleshooting activities across Flywheel Energy’s Eagle Ford operated assets. This role serves as the primary field resource for maintaining reliable production operations through safe, efficient, and proactive management of electrical and instrumentation systems.

The position partners closely with Production, Facilities, SCADA, Engineering, and third-party contractors to minimize downtime, improve system reliability, and support Flywheel’s commitment to rapid, responsible growth.

This role is expected to combine strong technical capability with field leadership, ownership mentality, and a solutions-oriented approach to operational execution.
Responsibilities & Expectations:

Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts for electrical, instrumentation, and automation-related production interruptions.

Support reliable operation of production facilities, tank batteries, compressors, SWDs, artificial lift systems, and associated infrastructure.

Diagnose issues involving PLCs, RTUs, VFDs, transmitters, motor controls, instrumentation loops, and communication systems.

Coordinate and prioritize field response activities to minimize deferred production and operational downtime.

Ensure preventative maintenance activities are executed consistently and documented appropriately.

Oversee installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of field instrumentation and electrical systems.

Support commissioning and startup activities for new wells, facilities, acquisitions, and infrastructure projects.

Partner with SCADA and Automation teams to maintain communication reliability and system integrity.

Coordinate and oversee third-party I&E contractors, Flywheel I&E employees, and service providers in the field.

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture aligned with Flywheel behaviors and expectations.

Serve as a trusted field resource for operations leadership and production teams.
Required Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Technical certification, associate degree, or formal training in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field preferred.

Minimum 7+ years of oil & gas field experience in electrical, instrumentation, automation, or related operations support roles.

Strong troubleshooting experience with production facility electrical and instrumentation systems.
-
Working knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, VFDs, transmitters, motor controls, and SCADA systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, and P&IDs.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
