Responsibilities and Expectations
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and managing an SBA loan portfolio in the Kansas City and Topeka market
- Maintain strong knowledge of SBA programs, policies, and procedures
- Generate new SBA business through networking, referrals, and direct outreach
- Close and service SBA loans referred by internal partners
Customer Relationship Management
- Manage and service assigned SBA commercial client relationships
- Build and strengthen relationships through consistent communication and high-quality service
- Understand each client’s business and risk profile
- Retain clients with acceptable risk levels
- Follow all bank policies and procedures in managing relationships
Business Development and Productivity
- Achieve loan growth, fee income, and deposit goals
- Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitor activity
- Develop knowledge of all commercial banking products to support cross selling
- Demonstrate strong understanding of SBA lending and documentation
- Maintain a personal business plan aligned to growth objectives
- Execute an active calling program to generate new SBA opportunities
Profitability
- Maximize client profitability in alignment with bank expectations
- Support loan pricing, fee income, and deposit growth objectives
- Drive results that meet or exceed financial goals
Credit and Risk Management
- Maintain acceptable levels of delinquency and criticized assets
- Analyze credit risk with sound judgment and complete information
- Communicate potential credit concerns in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with credit and documentation standards
Quality and Execution
- Deliver consistent, high-quality work across credit and portfolio management
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management
- Apply sound business judgment in underwriting and risk management
- Solve problems effectively and think beyond the obvious
Teamwork and Communication
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and leadership
- Contribute to a positive and professional work environment
- Communicate clearly and respectfully

Required Skills & Education
Requirements
- Experience in SBA lending with knowledge of SBA programs
- High school diploma required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and Windows based applications
- Working knowledge of banking regulations and internal policies
Preferred
- General banking experience
- Bachelor’s degree
