Scientific Analyst II (Part-Time)

Perform genome-scale identification and classification of transposable element (TE) families across target eukaryotic genomes. Apply knowledge of TE biology and classification systems to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manually validate computational results, resolve ambiguous classifications, and integrate findings with established TE ontologies (e.g., Repbase, Dfam) and community libraries. Interact with internal and external collaborators on TE annotation and genomics projects. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skilled in analyzing and classifying transposable elements.
