Position Summary

As a mold manufacturer and repair technician in the plastic injection field, the primary objective is to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of injection molds used in production processes.

This role performs complex repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance activities to ensure molds operate optimally and consistently produce high-quality products.

Analyzes material specifications in collaboration with Design and Engineering.

Job Duties and General Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs, maintenance, and modifications on plastic injection molds, ensuring optimal operating conditions according to specifications and drawings.

• Operate Tool Room equipment with high competence and safety standards (CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, conventional machining, EDM, grinding machines, manual and ultrasonic polishing, welding for repairs).

• Diagnose and solve issues related to mold cycle performance, mold-machine interaction, tools, and accessories.

• Supervise collaborators during specific mold shop tasks when required.

• Perform reverse engineering of plastic parts and injection molds.

• Identify and propose machining cost reduction projects.

• Ensure compliance with internal Quality and EHS requirements.

• Apply leadership principles ensuring adherence to the 4 I’s and Code of Ethics and Conduct.

• Prepare reports as required.

Minimum Requirements

Technical degree required.

More than 7 years of experience in preventive and corrective mold maintenance.
Experience operating conventional machinery (lathe, milling machine, grinding machine, hand tools).
Experience operating CNC machinery.
Experience in welding processes (MIG, TIG, Laser).
