Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

 

This is a site-based role at Tanami Operations in the Northern Territory, working in a challenging remote environment. You will interface daily with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and project stakeholders.

 

The role involves a FIFO schedule which is 8 days on & 6 days off.

Approved departure locations for the point of hire are Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth, and Brisbane.

Who we’re looking for!

 

As a Business Readiness Operations Advisor, you will support the coordination and execution of business readiness activities to ensure projects are successfully transitioned into operations. You will work across project and operational teams to align readiness plans, track progress and support a smooth handover. This is a practical, coordination-focused role where attention to detail, organisation and collaboration are critical.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinating the development and execution of business readiness plans across project functions to support transition to operations.
  • Supporting the preparation of scopes, schedules and budgets for business readiness activities.
  • Working across project operations and supporting teams to ensure alignment and readiness for handover.
  • Preparing and maintaining business readiness documentation, reporting and progress tracking.
  • Assisting with risk, assurance and continuous improvement activities, including post-implementation reviews.

 

Capabilities Required

 

  • Trade qualifications or engineering background & a valid driver’s licence.
  • preferably large-scale projects and multiple process operations.
  • Experience working with consultants or contractors, with an understanding of capital project lifecycles and transition to operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with shaft infrastructure, winder systems, koepe & double drum winders, crushers & conveyors is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within functional team structure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including technical writing, reporting and the ability to build effective relationships across stakeholders.
