About the Sr. Sales Manager - Flex:
MarketStar is looking for a Sr. Sales Manager to support our Flex team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Flex (getflex.com) is a growth-stage FinTech company on a mission to improve the rent payment experience. By allowing users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that aligns with their personal finances, Flex empowers renters with flexibility over their largest recurring expense.
The Growth Acceleration Team is a dedicated, high-impact unit built to experiment, validate, and scale new go-to-market strategies for Flex's SMB segment. Unlike traditional account management or standard inbound sales, this team focuses on testing new, unverified lead sources with data-driven rigor, documenting what works, establishing baseline performance, and producing clear go/no-go recommendations. Your role as a Sr. Sales Manager is to lead a highly skilled team of experienced hunter reps, instill a culture of rigorous documentation and high-volume phone execution, analyze performance data to synthesize experimental outcomes, and deliver strategic recommendations directly to client leadership.

What Will You Do?
Drive your team to meet and exceed baseline performance expectations and sales goals through disciplined outbound pipeline management and strict performance metrics.
Coach and develop experienced sales representatives to navigate gatekeepers, establish instant need, and maintain a high volume of daily cold phone calls.
Partner closely with client leadership to deliver data-driven feedback, establish experimental baselines, and present clear go/no-go recommendations for new lead sources and sales motions.
Utilize advanced data management skills to rigorously analyze experiment results, sales performance, and pipeline health within Salesforce, ensuring complete data accuracy.
Assess current team processes, procedures, and experiment outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement, building and executing agile plans to pivot strategies quickly.
Foster a team culture centered on high curiosity, resilience, meticulous documentation of sales processes, and rapid adaptability.
Maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement, strategic updates, and effective collaboration on new market development approaches.
Ensure adherence to risk management and compliance standards in all sales activities.
What Will You Need to Succeed?
Successful outbound sales track record with a history of driving performance to exceed goals; experience in FinTech, SaaS, or cold B2B tech sales highly preferred.
Prior experience leading an agile team in a fast-paced, quota-driven environment; experience managing experimental, business development, or heavy outbound hunter teams is a strong plus.
Highly curious, analytical mindset with strong skills in interpreting complex sales data, tracking conversion funnels, and translating metrics into strategic business recommendations.
Proven track record of coaching experienced sellers, optimizing high-volume cold outreach frameworks, and building a culture of meticulous CRM documentation.
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present experimental findings and strategies to client stakeholders.
High adaptability and resilience; proven ability to manage ambiguity, lead teams through frequent strategic pivots, and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
Experience building strong relationships, managing conflict, and leading by example.
Strong familiarity with technology and sales tools to enhance operations, with deep knowledge of Salesforce and outbound sequencing platforms preferred.
