Job Description

Salary: $80,000 Minimum
Bargaining Unit (click here for contracts): GUSS Contract
Report Times: Varies
Daily Hours: 8.5 (7.5 Paid)
Work Year: 12 month
Supervisor: Assistant Director of Community Schools
Civil Service Title: Continuing Education Coordinator (Competitive)
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a New York State recognized or regionally accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Education, Recreation, Journalism, Communications, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field; OR,
(B) Graduation from a New York State recognized or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Journalism, Communications, Public or Business Administration or a closely related field plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in administering or promoting educational programs; OR,
(C) Graduation from a New York State recognized or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (B) above; OR,
(D) Graduation from a New York State recognized or regionally accredited college or university with an Associate's degree five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (B) above; OR,
(E) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C) and (D) above.
Desired Qualifications:
Documented experience involving:
Developing and leading early childhood/elementary programs (specifically before and after school programs);
Ability to develop and maintain effective and positive relationships with various group of stakeholders (school district personnel, community partners, parents and families);
Excellent communication and problem solving skills;
Proven experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating professional development tailored for before and after school programs;
Demonstrated experience establishing and analyzing individual and team goals;
Minimum of five years experience supervising, recruiting, and retaining a diverse staff;
Experience overseeing programming for diverse student populations.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Manage day to day operations of before and after school and summer programs for PreK-5 students;
Develop program curriculum and structure;
Ensure programs include activities that contribute to the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical well being of each participant;
Connect and build relationships with staff, students, and family;
Interview, hire, train, evaluate employee performance;
Address parent concerns and resolve problems;
Address issues with students in a respectful and restorative manner;
Supervise the registration process;
Ensure all safety and hygiene practices are followed;
Arrange for the availability of facilities with respect to space and time;
Process and oversee payroll;
Maintain accurate and up to date staff and student records;
Collaborate with District administration and building based staff to insure program objectives are met, and the program is in alignment with GCSD academic and social-emotional learning objectives;
Work with supervisor to establish and maintain the annual program budget;
Other duties as assigned.
