Responsibilities
We are looking for a strong Software Engineering Manager with strong leadership and software development experiences who can effectively manage our team of game developers. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will interact heavily with our internal teams to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
The incumbent will:
- Manage and prioritize the workload of your engineers
- Actively promote the on-time completion of projects
- Work closely with product management to determine feasibility of product features and provide alternatives when necessary
- Keep interest and excitement levels high, inside and outside of the department
- Set measurable objectives for the team and individual reports and guide to achieve them
- Constantly look for better processes for projecting and improving project profitability
- Encourage innovation of process and creative development methodologies by all
- Actively lead or participate in resolving key issues that impact the performance of the team
- Contribute to sales activities, customer development, proposal development, and closing sales
- Present creative solutions to internal teams when possible
- Design and implement critical components of the product
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related discipline or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in client-side design and software development experience
- 3+ years of experience in HTML5, ActionScript, and/or Java programming
- Knowledge of the implications of developing for high-availability clustered environments
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Working knowledge or broad experience with SVN, Mercurial, Jira, bitbucket and Confluence
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate effectively with technical / non-technical personnel
- Able to pass a Security Background Investigation
Preferred:
- 3+ years of supervisory/management experience
- Experience with open source technologies
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams (i.e. US and China)
- SQL knowledge. Bonus points for MySql, CouchBase, Mongo and/or experience
- Online game development experience

This information reflects Brightstar Lottery’s good-faith estimate of compensation for this position at the time of publication. Actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and internal compensation policies. Factors that we consider include, but are not limited to, role, career level, performance, skills, level of expertise, experience, location, market competitiveness, and internal equity. The estimated starting compensation range is 220,466 zł – 339,178 zł. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus with a set target (10% of salary) aligned with individual and company performance. Eligibility and payout may be prorated based on date of hire and service during the performance period or sales commission.

This position is governed by collective bargaining agreement, which regulates the main terms and conditions of employment, including minimum salary levels, classification, working hours, leave, and other employment rights.
