This role is focused on pipeline routing, constructability, and complex crossing design for natural gas and fueling systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience at the civil/geotechnical interface, including route development, survey interpretation, and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) design. Success in this position requires a deep understanding of terrain constraints, U.S.-based project requirements, pipeline stress considerations, and the integration of pipeline systems within challenging environments.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize pipeline routing for U.S.-based natural gas and fueling infrastructure projects
Design and analyze Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) profiles, including stress analysis and constructability considerations
Prepare and review designs for special crossings, including HDD, road, railroad, and river crossings
Interpret survey data, including existing conditions, underground utilities, terrain constraints, and geohazards
Support stormwater and drainage design associated with pipeline corridors
Contribute to site grading, corridor development, and earthworks design
Develop and implement erosion and sediment control measures within pipeline right-of-way
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, environmental, geotechnical, and mechanical engineers, primarily supporting U.S.-based projects
Review design deliverables, construction drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with U.S. standards
Support constructability reviews, field activities, and issue resolution during project execution
Utilize GIS tools to support routing, mapping, and spatial analysis
Education and Experience
5+ years of experience in pipeline engineering with a focus on route design and special crossings
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Proven experience with HDD design and pipeline stress analysis
Strong background in pipeline corridor development, grading, and drainage design
Experience supporting U.S.-based projects and familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.)
Experience interpreting survey data and geospatial information
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
English proficiency at B2 level or higher (required to support U.S.-based teams and clients)
