
Rail Performance Support Coordinator
Job Description
The Rail Performance Support Coordinator provides front-end financial auditing, cross-border tracing support, reporting, and administrative assistance to the Manager, Rail Relationships & Performance. This role supports rail performance oversight by validating financial data, assisting with cross-border shipment tracing, maintaining tracking tools, and contributing to development and process improvement initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Financial Auditing & Controls:
- Perform front-end auditing of rail invoices, accessorial charges, and cost recovery transactions.
- Validate charges against rate agreements and operational data prior to escalation.
- Identify discrepancies, trends, and billing concerns and prepare summaries.
- Support dispute preparation by compiling documentation and audit trails.
- Maintain audit and reconciliation trackers.
Cross-Border Tracing & Rail Support:
- Provide tracing support for cross-border rail shipments between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
- Compile tracking timelines and supporting data for delays or exceptions.
- Support internal coordination with Operations and Customer Service teams.
- Maintain cross-border performance tracking tools.
- Assist with identifying recurring cross-border service issues.
Development Projects & Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with the Manager on development and process improvement initiatives.
- Support creation and maintenance of reporting tools and trackers.
- Assist with data analysis and presentation materials.
- Participate in pilots, automation, and continuous improvement projects.
- Document workflows and outcomes.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Manager.
- Track action items, deadlines, and follow-ups.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and reference files.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests.
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Experience in transportation, logistics, finance support, or administrative roles.
- Exposure to cross-border rail or intermodal operations is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.
- High attention to detail and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
