About the Role
As the Commercial Electrical Field Manager, you will oversee the daily operations, profitability, team development, customer relationships, and overall performance of our Commercial Electrical Installation Division. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably while creating an environment where employees can thrive and grow.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance project management, team leadership, customer service, and financial accountability.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Development

Conduct regular performance reviews and monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports

Coach and mentor employees to help them achieve their full potential

Lead monthly department meetings focused on safety, performance, communication, and continuous improvement

Partner with Talent Acquisition to forecast staffing needs and build a strong workforce
Operations & Project Management

Assist the Commercial Electrical Estimator with site evaluations and project reviews

Create and present estimates for fast-turnaround commercial projects

Assign labor resources and manage weekly workforce scheduling

Coordinate equipment, tools, lifts, trailers, and other project resources

Collaborate closely with Commercial HVAC and Plumbing teams to ensure seamless project execution

Support project coordinators with permitting, utility company requirements, billing, and project closeout activities

Oversee material procurement and coordinate with Purchasing to ensure projects stay on schedule
Financial & Business Performance

Participate in Work-in-Progress (WIP) financial meetings

Monitor project performance, profitability, and labor utilization

Support departmental growth objectives and operational efficiency initiatives

Build strong customer relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
-
10-15 years of experience in commercial electrical installation and leadership
-
Proven experience managing commercial electrical projects and field personnel
-
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation practices, and applicable building codes

Experience estimating projects and preparing customer proposals
-
Knowledge of material purchasing, vendor management, and cost control

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
Preferred Qualifications

Technical degree in Electrical Technology or a related field

Experience leading large commercial installation teams

Demonstrated success improving operational processes and team performance
