Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Provide friendly, quality customer care to patients and clients
  • Assist with animal handling and restraint
  • Determine the status of the patient’s immunizations and tests
  • Greet clients and their pets and set them up for examinations
  • Assist in cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital to ensure a great client experience.
  • Accurately input data into computer software
  • Some reception work including but not limited to answering phones, responding to emails, responding to text messages, scheduling appointments, checking clients out, confirming   appointments and obtaining all necessary medical history
  • Making outbound calls to schedule appointments for pets that are past due for services
  • Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology and pet behavior
  • Fill prescriptions, food requests, and over-the-counter products as instructed by a veterinarian

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least one year of Veterinary Assistant experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or greater
  • Weekend availability
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
