Job Description
Role Overview
The Instructional Coach serves as a vital bridge between curriculum, teaching practice, and student success. This role utilizes a student-centered coaching model to support teachers' professional growth through collaborative planning, data analysis, modeling, and non-evaluative feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Coaching & Mentoring: Conduct 1:1 and team coaching cycles, offering goal-setting, classroom observations, and constructive feedback. Apply adult learning principles to help teachers improve their own practice.
- In-Class Support: Model and co-teach evidence-based instructional strategies in real-time within the classroom.
- Data-Driven Instruction: Assist teachers in analyzing academic, behavioral, and emotional data to differentiate learning and develop targeted student interventions.
- Professional Development (PD): Partner with administrators and district specialists to design and deliver site-specific PD and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Collaboration & Culture: Build trusting, confidential relationships with staff; actively participate in coach-specific PD, peer observations, and professional research.
- Operations: Manage a flexible schedule to maximize coaching impact; adhere to contract time and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Instructional Coaching Endorsement
- ESL Endorsement
- Strong interpersonal communication, lesson planning, and tech proficiency
Preferred:
- Master's Degree
- Understanding of Student-Centered Coaching cycles
- Experience teaching grades 4�6
- Familiarity with Wit & Wisdom and Open Up curricula
