Role Summary:

CPP Investments is hiring multiple Analysts to join the Investment Operations team within our Technology & Operations department. Candidates will be considered across several sub-teams that support the execution and operational oversight of CPP Investments’ global investment activities. Current opportunities are available within the following functional areas:

Trade Lifecycle Management - Supports trade capture, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution across investment products and asset classes.

Corporate Actions & Asset Servicing - Manages corporate action events, entitlements, and income processing to ensure accurate and timely execution of market events.

Cash, Collateral & Settlements Operations - Supports transaction settlements, cash movements, and collateral management activities across global investment portfolios.

As an Analyst within Investment Operations, you will contribute to the accurate and timely execution of critical operational processes that support investment decision-making, portfolio management, and risk mitigation across global markets. These teams provide broad exposure to a variety of asset classes, investment products, and operational workflows across the full investment lifecycle.

Throughout the application and recruitment process, candidates will be considered across all Investment Operations sub-teams based on business needs, skillset and experience. Successful candidates will ultimately be aligned and placed on one specific sub-team for the duration of the 12-month contract.

Accountabilities & Qualifications:

Accountabilities:

  • Support end-to-end investment operations activities across trade lifecycle management, corporate actions and asset servicing, and cash, collateral, and settlements operations

  • Accurately capture, validate, reconcile, and process trade, settlement, and corporate action activity across multiple systems and counterparties

  • Ensure positions, cash movements, trade economics, and reporting outputs are reflected accurately and within established timelines

  • Investigate and resolve operational exceptions including trade breaks, settlement issues, cash discrepancies, and lifecycle event gaps

  • Maintain strong operational controls and escalate issues, risks, or discrepancies in accordance with established procedures and governance standards

  • Collaborate with Investment Teams, Trading, Portfolio Management, Finance, Technology, custodians, brokers, and external service providers to support daily operations and issue resolution

  • Contribute to process improvements, workflow automation, operational documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support the responsible use of automation and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency and data quality

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related field

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in investment operations, middle office, settlements, asset servicing, or post-trade functions

  • Knowledge of public market products and trade lifecycle concepts is considered an asset

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with high attention to detail

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Experience with investment operations platforms such as Bloomberg, Murex, SimCorp, or Omgeo/CTM is considered an asset

  • Strong Excel skills and comfort learning new systems and technologies

  • Interest in automation, continuous improvement, and AI-enabled tools such as ChatGPT

  • Professional designations such as CFA, CPA, or CBV are considered an asset
