To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 07/24/2026 Part-Time Bresnahan-Halstead Center Business Manager University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Position Summary The Bresnahan-Halstead Center (BH Center) at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Manager to support the Center's programs, events, and administrative operations. This part-time position plays a key role in planning and executing conferences, trainings, workshops, meetings, and outreach activities that support the Center's mission. The Business Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, the Director of Research and Evaluation, Graduate Research Assistant, Advisory Board faculty, staff, and community partners to ensure successful event development and implementation while assisting with operational and financial processes. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys budget management, event planning, project coordination, and working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Budget Support Assist with monitoring budgets associated with the Center. Track expenditures and provide financial information to Center leadership. Help maintain compliance with university and sponsor requirements. Coordinate with UNC finance offices on purchasing, reimbursements, payroll, and financial reporting. Event Planning and Coordination Coordinate venues, meeting spaces, catering, lodging, transportation, and audio/visual needs. Initiate and process contracts for speakers, presenters, and event vendors. Develop and manage event registration processes and participant communications. Monitor event budgets and expenditures. Provide on-site event support and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Coordinate summer training events and conferences throughout Colorado, including occasional travel to mountain locations. Administrative and Operational Support Assist with purchasing, reimbursements, travel arrangements, and business-related transactions. Maintain event records, contracts, and operational documentation. Serve as a liaison with university offices including Finance, Human Resources, and Purchasing among others. Support internal processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency. Communication and Reporting Prepare reports, summaries, and supporting documentation for leadership and stakeholders. Maintain organized records for audits, reporting requirements, and internal review. Provide professional communication and customer service to faculty, staff, students, and community partners. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Event Management, Communications or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Experience planning, coordinating, and implementing events. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in higher education, nonprofit organizations, educational centers, or grant-funded environments. Experience managing budgets, purchasing, or business operations. Knowledge of event management software and registration systems. Experience coordinating travel, conferences, or professional development events. Familiarity with grant-funded projects and reporting requirements. This part-time position requires occasional evening and overnight travel for conferences, training, and outreach activities. Summer travel throughout Colorado, including mountain communities, is expected as part of the Center's event and professional development activities.
