Summary:

A Division Journeyman Electrician at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Maintenance team supporting efforts to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance within the maintenance department. The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with company standards, project specifications, and all applicable safety regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic, technical expertise, and a commitment to mentoring apprentices. 


Key Responsibilities

1. Operation and Project Oversight:  
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical issues and implement effective solutions. 
  • Work closely with maintenance, production, and QA teams to improve line performance. 
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. 
  • Install and upgrade electrical components and systems as needed. 
  • Develop working relationships with outside vendors. 
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of electrical systems and equipment in industrial and commercial settings. 
  • Oversee new installation projects.  
  • Participate in job site coordination meetings and interface with other trades. 
  • Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other job-site equipment as needed. 
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation, but able to work independently when the job requires. 
2. Continuous Improvement and Record Keeping:
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment optimization. 
  • Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation for inspections and testing. 
  • Performs routine maintenance on various systems to ensure system efficiency and compliance. 
3. Safety and Compliance Administration:  
  • Administer process safety management and risk management plan. 
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards. 
  • Interact with regulatory agencies as necessary EPA, OSHA, DEQ, City, and State inspectors.  
  • Identify and escalate potential hazards, code violations, or design discrepancies. 
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.


What you bring to Pacific Seafood

Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5+ years of industrial electrical experience (food manufacturing preferred). 
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), VFDs, and automation systems. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and make real-time decisions. 
  • Hands-on, floor-focused mindset — not office-bound. 
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices. 
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Must be able to travel up to 50-75% of the time. 
  • Certification in designated states. 
Preferred:
  • Forklift Certification.

  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Office, as well as warehouse environment.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Plant exposure to wet, cold, and/or humid temperatures.
