Platinum Performance was founded in 1996 by renowned equine veterinarian, Dr. Doug Herthel to support his cases in veterinary practice. From its earliest days, the company has held a strong commitment to veterinarians and the highest respect for their role in guiding the health, wellness and performance of the horse. For nearly 30 years, Platinum Performance, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Zoetis, has been developing, manufacturing, and marketing premium nutritional product formulas for wellness and athletic performance in horses as well as a range of pet care nutritional supplements.
The Advertising & Media Planning Manager is responsible for leading the advertising and media strategy, annual planning, and budget management to maximize brand impact and business growth. This role oversees development of integrated media plans and the end-to-end production of marketing assets and content, ensuring all materials align with strategic objectives, brand standards, and regulatory/compliance requirements. This role collaborates very closely with other members of the marketing team as well as cross-functionally with E-Comm, Sales, Insights/Analytics, Legal/Regulatory, and external partners to deliver measurable results that live up to the Platinum standards of quality. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, a strategic mindset and a passion for animal health and nutrition. This role reports to the Senior Marketing Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the annual and quarterly advertising and media strategy aligned to brand and business objectives.
- Develop integrated, multi-channel media plans around key formulas and campaigns (e.g., digital, social, search, print, programmatic, events/sponsorships).
- Partner with Insights/Analytics to define KPIs, measurement approaches, and optimization plans; translate results into actionable recommendations for advertising and media strategy.
- Own the advertising and media budget (annual planning, forecasting, allocation, pacing, and reconciliation).
- Build business cases for incremental spend and reallocation decisions, track ROI and performance vs. plan.
- Responsible for development, review, and delivery of marketing assets and content across channels including but not limited to writing content, art directing on layouts, email direction, submitting JIRA tickets and routing assets for approval.
- Drive digital campaign creative execution across paid search, paid social, display/programmatic, CRM/email, and website/landing-page experiences.
- Partner with analytics and channel owners to improve funnel performance (CTR, CVR, CAC, ROAS, LTV, etc.).
- Support owned-channel content strategy (SEO & AEO fundamentals, content governance, and engagement best practices).
- Develop and operationalize audience segmentation using first-party data, market insights, and behavioral signals.
- Apply AI/ML-informed approaches (where approved) to refine segmentation, personalization, lookalike modeling, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Ensure segmentation approaches are privacy-aware and compliant with internal policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensure assets are on strategy, on brand, and optimized for channel requirements and audience needs.
- Maintain creative calendars, versioning, and distribution of final approved files; ensure efficient content reuse/adaptation.
- Serve as day-to-day lead for media and creative designers (briefing, timelines, performance reviews, deliverables, and quality).
- Collaborate with Brand/Portfolio Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders to align messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market priorities.
- Coordinate review/approval workflows with Legal/Regulatory/Medical as applicable; ensure compliant claims and documentation.
- Support key launches and initiatives with integrated plans, toolkits, and readiness communications.
- Represents Platinum Performance at tradeshows and events periodically.

Education and Experience:
- BS/BA required. MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing or related role (advertising, media planning/buying, or integrated marketing brand or agency experience preferred).
- Knowledge of equine industry and nutritional products preferred.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks utilizing a wide degree of creativity and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
- Hands-on familiarity with key platforms and tools (e.g., Google/Meta/LinkedIn, DSPs, GA4, ad servers, social listening, DAM tools).
- Experience with media mix modeling, incrementality testing, or advanced measurement approaches.
- Excellent leadership, organization and communication skills required.
- Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and curiosity about animal health and nutrition.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $93,000.00 - $140,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation
