Itinerant Autism Support Teacher
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on specific teaching strategies following principals of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Provide direct services to students, focusing on areas like academic skills, communication, social skills, and behavioral support
- Able to work as a team member coordinating activities and curriculum
- Implements instructional strategies that align with the students IEP and are developed following ABA
- Supports generalization of skills across multiple environments
- Proficient in data collection and analysis of to drive instruction
- Provide social skills instruction
- Demonstrates knowledge of adaptations, modifications, and accommodations for students with Autism to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilize positive behavior support strategies to support the social-emotional development of students who exhibit behavioral challenges.
- Adapts curriculum and plans activities to accommodate children with Autism
- Willing to travel to provide educational services to students across multiple schools
- Organize, maintain and communicate a weekly schedule
- Provide professional development to buildings supporting on instructional strategies for students with Autism
- Support development of IEP and specially designed instruction
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in Autism & Severe Disabilities
- Ability to collaborate with staff and administrators
- Experience working with students with Autism
Required Certificate(s):
- Delaware Advanced License
- Delaware Continuing License
- Delaware Initial License
