YOUR PROFILE
The Environment Manager is a key member of the Environment team, responsible for coordinating and communicating all aspects of environmental assessment and permitting during the development of renewable energy projects in North America.

YOUR CHALLENGE
Reporting to the US Environment Lead, you will also work closely with Boralex's Environmental Construction and Compliance Managers, Director of Environment, Project Development Managers, and Project Delivery Managers.
The main objective of this role is to be responsible for managing the regulatory and environmental processes of renewable energy projects in New York State, and across the US.
RESPONSABILITIES
Leading the process of obtaining approvals and permits, ensuring timelines and documentation are maintained.
Managing consultants responsible for environmental assessments, permits, and authorizations.
Engaging with federal, provincial, and local regulatory authorities.
Integrating environmental and regulatory aspects into the design and delivery of projects.
Participating in public, Indigenous, and stakeholder consultation activities.
Supporting the development team in responding to Requests for Proposals.
Assisting the acquisition team in reviewing projects and portfolios.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related field.
Three to five years of relevant experience in the environmental field.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes for energy-related projects, preferably in New York State.
Leadership, strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to review and summarize technical reports.
Experience in major project development is an asset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with solar or wind energy projects and knowledge of the NY State Office of Renewable Energy and Siting and Electric Transmission (ORES) permitting process is an asset.
Ability to travel throughout North America.
Valid driver's license required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar programs.
