Job Description Technical Application Expert, Downstream India Ahmedabad /Hyderabad Based

This Customer Application, Technical Application Expert (Downstream Processing) role covers the following items, but not limited, any additional responsibility which benefits organization would be discussed on case basis.

Who we are:

The Customer Application (CA) group is part of the Life Science Business and provides high quality scientific and technical support to customers developing or manufacturing biopharmaceuticals. This Technical Application Expert, DSP (TAE) role will be a part of the CA Downstream team covering the India region. This role will be preferably home-based in Ahmedabad/Hyderabad and will provide support at customer sites across the assigned territory. TAE DSP acts as the partner to Account Managers in the sales process, bringing technical expertise to win a sale. The TAE DSP provides deep insights into the customer environment and pain points and is able to position solutions to those pains The TAE DSP will be required to work closely with the Regional Strategy Execution team member to support the development and execution of the marketing plans. This is a rewarding role for an experienced and confident biopharmaceutical expert with an interest in applied, commercial pharma process development and manufacturing.

Your Role:

• Supporting client’s process development teams through consultative approach with bioprocess technologies such as normal flow filtration (clarification, sterile and virus removal), tangential flow filtration and chromatography, typically in pre-clinical to clinical phase development projects.
• Understand customer process, utilize application expertise to translate customer needs and pain points into solutions and sales tactics. Also present the differentiation value story to influence customer buying behavior and achieve business win
• Develop a strong understanding of the biologics and classical pharma segment markets in India which includes the customers, trends, competitions etc. and report key findings as and when required.
• Understand selling process and capable to apply advanced selling skills. Support hands-on training after sales and make sure customer are happy with our products and service. Partner with sales, drive the process from lead to order with positioning and presenting the differentiating value story, in order to achieve business win, with implementation of business initiatives.
• Builds expertise for all the technical areas within group product scope, seeking out information and understanding the advanced and new technologies of downstream processing in Pharma and Biopharmaceutical drug manufacturing process.
• Able to apply very strong product and technical knowledge of DSP to address customers’ needs and pain points by providing appropriate solution. Increase branding and reputation by supporting thought leadership activities. Support product cycle management (e.g. product alpha beta test, obsolesce etc).
• Contribute to strategy development and support execution of aligned tactical plans. Communicates in a clear and concise manner, covering all the relevant points
• Collaborate with commercial partners for customer activities planning and lead internal discussions for downstream related topics. Build exceptional relationships with our external customers so that the queries are managed effectively and efficiently within the given timeline.

Who you are: (Qualifications)

Experience:

• MSc. in BioSciences related field or BS (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent) with acceptable experience in biopharma industry (>5 years)
• Biopharma industrial experience and expertise in separation and purification technologies (>5 years of experience advantageous) and overall DSP technologies that includes Normal Flow filtration, Tangential Flow Filtration, Virus Filtration, Chromatography and Fill finish & Formulations
• Good understanding and knowledge of the biopharmaceutical market
• Technical communication skills (verbal and written) in English and good analytical skills (market analysis)

• Ability to work home based and travel up to 50-70% of time to customers within India (with occasional global travel expected).
• Demonstrates outstanding project management skills through the successful closure of capital expansion projects.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to leverage decisions at a high level. Excellent presentation skills.
