A DAY IN THE LIFE:

At Tandem Diabetes Care, we are transforming the future of diabetes technology—and as we continue to expand globally, our logistics and fulfilment capabilities are critical to our success.

As a Logistics and Distribution Analyst experienced in supply chain, you will support Tandem’s International logistics and fulfilment function through strong analytical insight, systems expertise, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for managing transportation providers and warehouse partners, supporting global fulfilment operations, and driving improvements in cost, service, and scalability.

You will play an instrumental role in enabling Tandem’s international growth by supporting new market entry, implementing and managing warehouse and freight systems, and leading project‑based shipment planning. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and third‑party logistics providers to ensure compliant, efficient, and customer‑focused global distribution.

This is initially a 6-month FTC contract, and you will need to be able to travel 2-3 times a week to our distribution office in Weert.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support corporate shipment and inventory fulfillment needs for internal customers, in alignment with transportation management systems and ERP platforms.
  • Manage and continuously improve global logistics processes, costs, and service levels across inbound and outbound transportation.
  • Maintain order‑to‑cash management and contribute to global footprint optimisation through cost‑savings, consolidation, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support to determine global inventory management requirements and distribution strategies.
  • Manage third‑party logistics (3PL) providers for finished goods warehousing and distribution, including systems integration and shipment tracking.
  • Serve as a liaison between third‑party logistics providers and internal teams including Sales and Technical Support.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain service contracts, policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead negotiations and manage relationships with brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and trucking partners.
  • Support the evaluation of third‑party quotations to ensure competitive pricing, service quality, and complete commercial alignment.
  • Administer logistics‑related systems and support the development of new standard operating procedures in conjunction with ERP and system changes.
  • Develop and maintain logistics performance metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and executive‑level financial and operational reporting.
  • Support strategic planning for new market entry, including shipment planning, customs requirements, and logistics network design.
  • Manage global material transportation processes and ensure customs and trade compliance across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and continuous supply chain optimisation.
  • Communicate regularly with peers, managers, and stakeholders; document work, meetings, decisions, and process changes clearly.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, cGMP, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

You're Awesome At:

  • Strong understanding of global shipping concepts, including inbound and outbound logistics, International Traffic Coordination, and INCOTERMS.
  • High analytical aptitude with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Strong ERP knowledge supporting scheduling, inventory control, and shipping processes.
  • Demonstrated change‑management capability in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction while collaborating effectively as part of a global team.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and research skills.
  • Consistent focus on meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting, analysis, and executive presentations.
  • Ability to both lead initiatives and contribute as a team member.

Education & Certifications

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.

Extra Awesome:

  • Experience in logistics, distribution, supply chain management, or related fields (e.g. demand or supply planning).
  • Experience working in cGMP‑regulated environments required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing global transportation, third‑party logistics providers, and international trade compliance.

JOB SCOPE

  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of global logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Resolves a wide range of complex issues creatively, demonstrating sound judgment and problem‑solving skills.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope requiring data analysis, evaluation of multiple variables, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Operates with minimal day‑to‑day supervision and receives general guidance on new assignments or strategic initiatives.
