
9th Grade On-Track Summer Bridge Program
Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Summer Bridge Program Teacher helps rising ninth-grade students successfully transition to high school through academic enrichment, skill development, and student engagement.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides targeted reading, writing and speaking skill development that is needed for incoming 9th graders to more strongly enter and navigate through Freshman courses
- Scaffold instruction such that it leads to students' in-depth understanding
- Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their understandings in a variety of ways
- Support students in understanding how to work in collaborative groups to complete a project
- Knowledgeable about teen developmental markers
- Ability to provide differentiated instruction
Familiar with MLL strategies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
valid CT CSDE Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 3.5 hrs/ 4 days per week, $41/hour
