Job Description
*Hybrid Position*
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of networked systems and servers, while providing technical leadership and support to junior staff. The Senior Systems Administrator works closely with IT management, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver robust technology solutions that support organizational goals.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows, Linux, and virtualization platforms) in physical and cloud environments.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively address potential problems to minimize downtime.
Apply security patches, updates, and configurations to protect systems from vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
Assist the Information Security team to design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.
Automate system administration tasks using scripts and configuration management tools.
Collaborate with application and IT support teams to integrate new solutions and resolve cross-functional technical challenges.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Mentor and train junior administrators and provide technical guidance to support staff.
Participate in after-hours maintenance, upgrades, and on-call support rotations as required.
Provide escalation support to helpdesk/Technical Support Group
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will constantly be ascending and descending, moving about and lifting objects
The employee may be required to lift files/materials up to 50 pounds to take to various locations.
This position will incur installing, operating and handling technical equipment such as personal computers, printers and servers daily.
The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of 7 years of network operations and administration experience
Minimum of 5 years of Microsoft Windows Server experience; certifications
Minimum of 3 years of network management and design experience
Experience administering hyperconverged environments (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
Experience managing Microsoft Azure and Entra with hybrid Active Directory
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
