Position Title: Design Engineer - Aerospace & Design
Reports to: Design Team Leader - Aerospace & Design

Location: HARTING India (Production), Chennai
POSITION SUMMARY
HARTING Company Introduction– High-performance connection technology forms the basis of industrial application
and product technology. The HARTING range of products and solutions comprises connectors, device connection
technology and network components. HARTING products connect machines and facilities via data, signal and power.
HARTING employs around 5,000 people across its 44 sales companies and 15 production locations.
The candidate for this position needs to have proven capabilities for Development of processing in new and
relocation connectors, cable assembly and harness. Maintain and improve serial connectors. This position is based
in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. India.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute
Good command of English (written and spoken)
Work Experience Required: At least 5-9 years’ experience in Product Design, with leadership experience.
Preferred: Expert knowledge in Aerospace & defense products, standards & processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Good knowledge of Aerospace & defense standards, documentation, new product development &
validation processes with minimum 3 years of work experience in aerospace product development.
Knowhow about the MIL-DTL-38999 MIL-DTL-5015 or similar standards.
Hands on experience in developing hermetically sealed products.
Knowledge of glass to metal sealing and manufacturing processes, maintain traceability for the products.
Hands on experience in New Product Design & Development (NPI/NPD) of electro-mechanical products.
Experience in Product concept development from the specification requirements.
Hands on working knowledge of Siemens NX 3D CAD software & Team Centre.
People leadership & technical leadership guidance to team exposure is a must.
Good knowledge in diecasting, plastic & sheet metal, Seal designs, IP ratings and rubber seal materials
component design & development.
Good knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, dimensions, and structural analysis.
Impeccable attention to design detail.
Having experience in connector design will be added advantage.
Knowledge on electrical engineering & contacts/terminals will be added advantage.
Good knowledge on material selection for the parts based on application.
Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and testing, to ensure
designs can be produced effectively and meet requirements.
Must have experience in working with Global teams and communicating with them technically
