Fitter - Steel Fabrication
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for reading shop fabrication drawings, tack welding, and working with various fabrication methods, tools, and techniques
You will assemble, align, and secure components for welding while ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications
Your responsibilities will include: Lay out, position, align, and fit components for welding
Tack weld parts to secure them in position
Assemble parts using bolts as necessary
Repair products by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools
Perform moderate physical work, lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly
Climb and balance on ladders, scaffolding, or stairs and perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
To thrive in this role, you'll need: Minimum of four years of experience in steel fabrication
Ability to work within industry-standard dimensional tolerances
Visualize flat drawings and blueprints as 3D objects
Familiarity with tools essential for fabrication work
Skilled in reading and interpreting shop drawings
Understanding of weld procedures and weld symbols
Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle physical workloads
Independent execution of detailed written or verbal instructions

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements: Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
Ability to lift, carry, and move weights of 10-50 lbs
Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, and visual acuity
Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and reaching required
