Do you love the outdoor summer season and taking care of gardens?
Regina Health Center, a mission-based skilled nursing and assisted living facility located in Richfield, Ohio, is hiring a seasonal, part-time Garden Keeper to maintain our outdoor, enclosed Madonna Garden. The Gardener will care for our established garden from April – October, on average 4-8 hours per week depending on seasonal needs and special projects.
The Madonna Garden has a variety of native perennials, container plantings, annual border beds, shrubs, and trees. This special garden offers a quiet reflection space and comfortable atmosphere for social activities.The garden provides accommodation for wheelchairs and walkers and is equipped with ADA-approved walkways, secure entrances, group seating and raised planters for residents’ use.
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Basic knowledge and passion for plant care
- Assist and interact with residents 1:1 with gardening activities
- Strong social skills – ability to communicate with residents, staff, and maintenance
- Keep all walkways clear
- Supervise volunteer groups helping with mulching and planting projects as needed
- Physically able to lift 25 lbs and desire to have an active, outdoor job
- Possess a professional, pleasant demeanor and good work ethic
