THE ROLE & TEAM

At Brabners, we are embarking on an exciting journey to transform how knowledge is captured, shared and used across the firm. We are looking for a Senior Knowledge Manager to play a pivotal, strategic role in establishing and embedding a modern Knowledge Management (KM) capability that supports our people and enhances client service.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a firm-wide function from the ground up, driving innovation, consistency and continuous improvement in how we manage legal knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead delivery of the firm’s Knowledge Management strategy and roadmap, from discovery through to implementation and adoption.

  • Design and evolve a firm-wide KM framework, including a trusted “single source of truth” for legal knowledge, precedents and templates.

  • Establish and embed a structured KM function, moving from fragmented practices to a consistent, technology-enabled approach.

  • Support and develop Knowledge Lawyer roles, ensuring effective capture, reuse and maintenance of high-value knowledge.

  • Embed KM into legal workflows by working closely with Practice Groups and Fee Earners.

  • Implement governance frameworks covering content quality, lifecycle management and information risk.

  • Collaborate with IT, Data and AI teams to integrate KM systems with document management and enterprise search tools.

  • Define and track KPIs to measure adoption, value and impact of KM initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to improve how knowledge is captured and reused, championing best practice across the firm.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience in a Knowledge Manager, PSL or similar role within a law firm or professional services environment.

  • Experience establishing or significantly developing a KM function, ideally from an early or greenfield stage.

  • Strong understanding of how legal knowledge is created, maintained and reused in practice.

  • Experience delivering KM initiatives or projects end-to-end.

  • Familiarity with document management systems, knowledge repositories and enterprise search tools.

  • Knowledge of information governance, content lifecycle management and risk.

  • Experience working with legal tech, data or AI teams is advantageous.

  • Strong strategic mindset, with the ability to align KM initiatives to wider business goals.
