We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Farm Hand - Organic Cropping to join our team in Feversham.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Farm Hand - Organic Cropping is responsible for supporting all field operations and equipment-related activities across the farm. This role focuses on planting and monitoring all crops, while safely operating and maintaining a wide range of agricultural and heavy equipment.
This is a year-round position requiring strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to sustainable farming practices and producing organic, healthy, high-quality food.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Organic Crop & Field Operations
Perform all planting and monitor all crops.
Support crop planning, rotation, and soil health.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Capable of operating all farm equipment efficiently
Perform land preparation, grading, and material handling.
Conduct routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate logs of equipment use and maintenance activities.
Snow Removal & Seasonal Duties
Operate snow removal equipment to maintain safe access to farm areas.
Clear driveways, field access points, and operational zones during winter conditions.
Apply salt/sand responsibly, following environmental best practices.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all farm safety protocols and equipment operating procedures.
Perform pre-operational equipment checks and report any issues immediately.
Ensure proper handling and storage of fuels, chemicals, and tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
10 years of experience in farming
Strong experience operating agricultural and heavy equipment.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance.
Valid Class G license.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of crop cycles, soil health, and sustainable farming practices.
Highly motivated with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Dependable, adaptable, and committed to producing high-quality food.
PAY RATE: $25-28/hr to start
