Why join us? DWF is offering an exciting opportunity for a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our growing Professional Liability team in Dublin. This role sits within our Global Risks & Financial Lines practice and offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-quality matters for insurers and professionals facing allegations of professional negligence. It is an excellent platform for a newly qualified solicitor looking to build a career in professional indemnity, insurance defence and construction-related disputes. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of claims, advising insurers and defending professionals across a variety of sectors, including construction. Responsibilities Assist in the defence of pre-action and litigated professional negligence claims. Assist with advising insurers and professionals in relation to liability, strategy and case progression. Support policy coverage advice, dispute resolution and disciplinary matters. Draft correspondence, pleadings, witness statements and instructions to counsel and experts. Assist with discovery, document review and broader case preparation. Work with insurers, insureds, counsel, experts and other stakeholders to progress matters efficiently. Support the defence of construction-related professional negligence claims involving architects, engineers, surveyors and other design professionals. Assist with mediation, settlement discussions and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Prepare court documentation and support the conduct of proceedings before the Irish courts. What will help you succeed in this role? What we are looking for Newly qualified solicitor, or due to qualify shortly. A background in commercial litigation, with exposure to professional negligence matters being particularly desirable. Construction litigation experience and/or UK litigation experience would be welcomed. A genuine interest in professional indemnity, insurance litigation and construction disputes. Strong analytical and drafting skills, with excellent attention to detail. A proactive, organised and adaptable approach. The confidence to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. Experience during training in insurance defence, construction disputes, regulatory work or professional negligence claims would be an advantage.
