Job Description
Position: Dental Assistant
Location: Cochrane, AB
Clinic: Camp Sayahh Kids Dental Care
We know that great pediatric dental care is about more than just procedures—it’s about creating positive experiences, building trust with children and families, and helping every patient feel safe, confident, and cared for.
We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at Camp Sayahh, a proud part of the Passion Dental Group. Whether you’re early in your career or bring years of experience, you’ll be joining a fun, supportive, family-focused environment where your patience, positivity, and empathy will help children feel comfortable and excited about their dental visits.
Specifics about the role:
Job Type: Full Time/Part Time
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:15 to 3:00. Fridays may also be required. Day shift with no weekends
About the Clinic:
Welcome to Camp Sayahh at Cochrane Kids Dental Care — where dental visits feel more like an adventure than an appointment. Designed with kids in mind, our clinic creates a fun, comforting experience that helps children feel excited about coming to the dentist. From a camper your child can explore and play in, to our cozy, quiet-time treehouse, every part of our space is built to make families feel relaxed, welcomed, and at ease from the moment they walk through the door.
What you’ll do:
Assist the dentist chairside during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following strict infection control protocols.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and dental procedures.
Take and develop X-rays (if certified) and maintain accurate patient records.
Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
Provide compassionate, confident care to children of all ages and abilities, ensuring a positive and supportive dental experience.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Licensed Certified Dental Assistant in good standing with the CADA.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Experience as a Dental Assistant (preferred), though new grads are welcome to apply.
Pediatric experience is considered a strong asset.
Certification as a Level I or Level II Dental Assistant (as recognized in Alberta).
Orthodontic module and/or scaling module are valuable assets, but not required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills—you’re as good at explaining care as you are at providing it.
Excellent multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a busy schedule efficiently.
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work with multiple dentists long-term.
Comfort with dental software systems and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience is a bonus.
