Job Summary

This role is for a Process Equipment and Instrumentation Engineer responsible for supporting the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and instrumentation systems across capital projects and facility upgrades. The position assists in developing equipment specifications, flow diagrams, and installation details, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of process equipment designs, specifications, and drawings for capital projects and facility upgrades.
  • Support the selection and definition of manufacturing equipment requirements based on facility needs, safety standards, and operational goals.
  • Provide technical support during project execution, including installation, testing, commissioning, and documentation of manufacturing equipment and instrumentation.
  • Perform instrument calibration, loop checks, and system testing, and assist in the development of related procedures and installation details.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, instrumentation, and control system issues, and support the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure instrumentation and control systems comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality and safety policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of testing and commissioning protocols, and provide technical assistance to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Support regulatory audits and inspections by maintaining accurate documentation and implementing procedures for calibration and maintenance compliance.

Educational Qualification

Graduation in Mechanical, Electrical, Biotechnology Engineering or related field is mandatory.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance and qualification of CEM/Lyophiliser/HVAC/Utility/Mechanical/Water/ and RPHPLC systems in GMP environments is desired.
  • Exposure to equipment lifecycle management, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and deviation handling aligned with DRL quality systems is preferred.
  • Experience in standardization of engineering practices across sites, including documentation, vendor coordination, and compliance is desired.
  • Exposure to SCADA/BMS integration, vendor coordination, and harmonization of maintenance practices across multiple sites is preferred.
  • Exposure to automation and digital engineering tools for enhancing project delivery and operational efficiency is preferred.
