The Assistant Survey Technician is responsible for setting up survey equipment and collecting data, assisting with all survey duties, including alignment, grade, and cross-sections. Assisting crew members with survey tasks and keeping accurate records of daily tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Travel to locations to survey the area and record data
- Take measurements of distances, angles, elevations, and contours
- Locate embedded objects in concrete using a rebar scanner and record appropriately
- Set up and take down survey equipment as required
- Provide as-built information to site team
- Manage detailed field notes and sketches
- Perform work from elevated heights as required to record data
- Understand project drawings and specifications
- Expand knowledge of survey and construction operations
- Observes all safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when working
- Maintain congenial relationships with all customers and promote a positive reputation for yourself and the company
- Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company, maintaining Copper Steel’s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and/pr Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- OSHA 30, Preferred
- Aerial Lift Certification, Preferred
- Experience running a Hilti Rebar Scanner, Preferred
