Our expertise spans the full lifecycle of a structure - design, build, adapt, repair and protect - delivered by four specialist operational businesses that combine seamlessly as One Kilnbridge to meet any project’s needs.

We are purpose led, focused on building a sustainable and resilient future for the UK, with a reputation for technical excellence, safety and quality built over 35 years. As an employee-owned business, our people are at the heart of everything we do - empowered to contribute, innovate and help shape our continued success.

If you want to develop your expertise, contribute to technically challenging projects and be part of a collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-driven Planner to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of high-profile construction and engineering projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across both tender and live project stages, giving you exposure to the full project lifecycle and the chance to directly influence planning strategy, programme performance and project outcomes.

Working closely with the Head of Planning and Project Leads, you’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing environment where your input will shape how projects are delivered — from early-stage bid planning through to on-site execution and completion.

If you’re looking to develop your career in planning, take on more responsibility and work on technically challenging projects, this role offers real scope for growth and progression.

What you’ll do

· Play an active role in both tender and project planning, supporting the development of winning programmes and successful project delivery

· Assist in creating and maintaining robust, compliant project programmes aligned with contract requirements

· Work closely with project teams to understand construction methodologies, sequencing and outputs

· Contribute to the development of construction strategies, phasing plans and handover approaches

· Produce and manage key planning deliverables including programmes, reports and progress updates

· Support the preparation of tender programmes tailored to client requirements

· Monitor progress against programme, providing clear insights on performance and potential risks

· Develop lookahead programmes to support short-, medium- and long-term planning

· Identify and communicate risks, opportunities and programme improvements

· Support resource planning, helping to coordinate labour, plant and materials effectively

· Collaborate with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve planning challenges

· Work with commercial teams to understand key milestones and contractual drivers

· Communicate programmes clearly to stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making

What you’ll need

· Experience in a planning, construction or engineering role, or a strong site-based/technical background looking to move into planning

· Exposure to planning tools such as Primavera P6 or ASTA Powerproject (or willingness to develop expertise)

· Understanding of construction processes, sequencing and project delivery principles

· Awareness of NEC and/or JCT contracts and their impact on planning

· Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality outputs

· Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal

· Ability to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams

· Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset

· Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced project environment

· A genuine interest in developing a career in planning within construction

· Relevant CSCS card, this is essential

· OND/HND or progress towards professional membership (RICS/CIOB/ICE/CIBSE) desirable

· Alignment with Kilnbridge values: Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence
