SUMMARY
The Dietary Aid II provides a variety of cleaning, service and production functions for patient and resident services, cafeteria, special functions and other related services. Responsibilities are primarily focused on meal distribution, service and kitchen upkeep.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides a quality dining experience that exceeds customer expectations.
- Promote and provide a work environment of teamwork and respect amongst employees, integrity, world class customer service, financial responsibility, and continual pursuit of excellence.
- Follow all outlined company, State, Federal and other applicable health and safety regulations with regards to food service, equipment uses and personal hygiene. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Works with Chef on snack program and planning out smaller events.
- Cleaning of larger equipment items and chemical inventory.
- Assisting with time/temp needs and temps on equipment as well as recording these on all proper forms as required.
- Comprehension and compliance of verbal and written instructions, production and orders and record keeping systems, in the distribution of daily menu offerings.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room including chairs, tables, trash, receptacles, work areas, condiments and other areas determined by the supervisor.
- Maintain an organized and sanitized kitchen, including floors, trash, and dishes and storage of delivery items.
- Ensure the kitchen, service areas, and surrounding areas are clean and free of debris, and arranged in a manner determined by the supervisor.
- The removal of trash, waste, and spills in the dining room, serving areas and kitchen floors.
- Station set up prior to service with appropriate equipment and food determined by the supervisor and the service of food to the customers.
- Receive, unpack, unwrap, rotate and stow deliveries into appropriate refrigerators, freezers and storerooms via supervisors’ instructions.
- Under supervisor’s instructions clean and sanitize workstation area.
- Assist with production, merchandising, setup and service of food under supervisor direction.
- Organization and replenishing of all service-related goods such as condiments, dishware and other related items.
- Serving of menu items, designated by supervisor, to the customer while providing exceptional customer service in a courteous, helpful and friendly manner.
- Assemble menu items on tray line for regular and modified diets.
- Assist customers with specific menu inquiries.
- Serve and clear customers using the proper serving/clearing methods.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; Retail customer service or food service experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current driver's license and acceptable driving record per agency guidelines, with proof of auto insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position will have extended standing and physical activity 100% of their workday. Repeated hand-wrist movement required. Corrected vision to normal range; normal hearing and talking is required for verbal communications. Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment and machines as referenced. Good memory and recall are necessary for the accurate and timely transfer of data/information.
