
Health Information Tech II
Job Description
Performs clerical tasks as assigned by management staff which includes the following:
- Chart Reconciliation: Retrieves medical records from Patient Care areas organizes and processes for document imaging. Reconciles records against discharge census and takes appropriate and timely action retrieve all discharged patient records
- Analysis: Performs concurrent and retrospective medical record reviews consistent with department/hospital standards and assigns deficiencies for physicians to complete
- Medical Staff Suspension Support: Generates reports and maintains databases for communication with the medical staff regarding the deficiency management system as well as adherence to the medical staff medical records suspension policy
- Birth Certificate Completion/Release of Information Requests/Transcription Support and other department support.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Health Information Technology or other related healthcare
field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year work experience in health information management or related field
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Healthcare setting or Physician practice. Clinical rotation in lieu of work
experience.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: RHIA/RHIT
