
Assistant Coach - Showstoppers Fall Dance Team
Job Description
Assistant Varsity Dance Coach:
This person will assist the head coach with running the Wayzata Showstoppers Fall Dance team. The Showstoppers season typically runs mid-August through mid-October each year. Must be able to attend practice from 3:30-6:00 PM and attend Friday night home football games, as well as any other school events.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the tryout process and selecting team members.
- Attend fall team practices.
- Assist head coach with running team practices.
- Attend fall team performances. This includes (but not limited to): football games, pep fests, parades, youth clinic and other community events.
- Assist in running and coordinating youth dance clinic fundraiser which may include (but not limited to): managing sign up forms, designing and ordering t-shirts, planning snack, name tags, choreography, editing music.
- Help order all team gear: which may include (but not limited to): designing gear, preparing ordering form, collecting payments.
- Order all team meals for game days.
- Assist in ordering items needed throughout the season.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Able to lead and motivate a large group of athletes. Typically, the team has between 40-65 members.
- Good organizational skills.
- Creative ideas.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Familiar with the sport of dance and some level of dance training.
Selection Procedure: Position is open only to WEA employees through 6/17/26. If no internal candidates are selected, external candidates will be considered. Position will remain open until filled.
This position is not benefit eligible. Stipend range is $100 - $9,168.
