Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Tool Crib Attendant plays a vital role in managing and maintaining the inventory of tools and equipment within the facility. This position requires an detail-oriented individual who ensure proper storage and a background within a manufacturing machine shop.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execution of measurement and inspection of tools.
Maintain accurate and organized computer files, spreadsheets, email inbox, and documentation for easy access and updates.
Work with external vendors to receive quotations and orders for replacement tooling.
Inventory control for tooling and ordering of tooling and supplies.
Keeps the tool crib well stocked, clean and organized in order to efficiently provide operations and engineering with required tooling.
Conducts self at all times in a professional manner and adheres to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
Perform other duties assigned by the department leadership.
Communicate with project teams to confirm tool availability and high-priority usage, test all tools before deployment to prevent delays or safety issues.
Coordinate with Purchasing Department for required tools, supplies, and materials.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Tool Crib; ensure materials are stored in proper areas and labeled accurately.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previously worked within a machine shop or lab setting, tooling management, or quality inspection preferred.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner with frequent interruptions and constantly shifting priorities
Ability to plan and prioritize workload to ensure efficient support to plant operations
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
Previous experience in a storeroom, or inventory management role preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, kneel and reach overhead
Ability to consistently work safely and maintain a safe work environment
Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining independence in task execution.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members across departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Secondary School (preferred)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment: 1 year (required)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasionally must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., pull, push, grab, bend, stoop or kneel. The ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time. Clearly and comfortably, view, interpret and process information within department. Use a computer monitor for extended periods, during normal working hours is required.
