Job Description

Description

Trintech is the leader in AI Financial Close Management, helping finance and accounting teams transform the way they work by eliminating manual burdens, strengthening controls, and empowering strategic decision-making.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Team at Trintech’s AI Platform. The Platform Team builds and maintains the foundational capabilities that all AI agents depend on — security and IAM infrastructure, multi-tenant architecture, cross-agent workflow orchestration, governance framework, billing and metering engine, and the agent marketplace. The Software Architect owns technical direction; the Engineering Manager owns delivery, people, and cross-stream coordination. This is a delivery-weighted leadership role. The primary contribution is ensuring platform capabilities are built to the right quality, on time, and in a sequence that enables the Agent Stream and Intelligence Stream to build on them. The right person is technically grounded — able to review and challenge architecture decisions, scope platform work accurately, and engage credibly with the Architect and senior engineers.

What You’ll Do

Delivery Ownership

  • Own end-to-end delivery of the Platform Team roadmap — core platform pillars, commercial layer, and cross-agent capabilities.

  • Manage delivery sequencing in close collaboration with the Software Architect and Senior Product Owner — platform capabilities must be available when agent squads need them.

  • Own cross-stream coordination with the Agent Stream and Intelligence Stream — the Platform Team’s outputs are consumed by both, and handoffs and dependencies must be managed proactively.

  • Maintain delivery visibility — track team-level progress, surface risks early, and communicate clearly to the Director of Engineering. Own release readiness, ensuring what ships is production-grade and consumption-ready for downstream squads.

People Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and support engineers across the Platform Team — FTEs and contractors, across all seniority levels.

  • Build and sustain a focused, high-quality engineering culture. Conduct regular 1:1s, performance conversations, and career development discussions.

  • Manage performance proactively — recognise high performers, course-correct early, and make hard calls when needed.

  • Foster close collaboration between the Platform Team and the Agent Stream — the platform exists to enable agent delivery, and the EM must maintain that alignment.

Technical Engagement

  • Maintain sufficient technical depth to engage credibly in architecture reviews, design discussions, and trade-off decisions. Able to step into code when needed — primary mode is technical oversight, not production delivery.

  • Review and challenge technical proposals from the Software Architect and Tech Leads — ask the right questions and validate that decisions are sound, scalable, and production-ready.

  • Own engineering quality governance — managing technical debt as a delivery priority, enforcing definition of done, and ensuring production-readiness gates are maintained.

  • Ensure engineering standards are maintained across the team — code quality, test coverage, observability, and compliance-grade event emission. Stay current on platform engineering practices: API design patterns, event-driven systems, and cloud-native infrastructure.

Who You Are

People Leadership & Delivery Ownership — Primary Gate

  • Proven people leadership across a platform or infrastructure team — hiring, coaching, performance management, and building high-quality engineering culture in a foundational delivery context.

  • Delivery ownership with platform DRI accountability — experience managing cross-stream dependencies, sequencing platform roadmap work, and ensuring downstream teams can consume platform outputs on time and to the right quality.

Technical Depth

  • System design and distributed systems — working knowledge sufficient to review, challenge, and validate architecture decisions made by the Platform Architect and Tech Leads. Not required to design; required to govern.

  • Engineering quality governance — managing technical debt, balancing quality against velocity, enforcing definition of done, and ensuring production-readiness gates across the team.

  • OAuth 2.0 and one IDP — production experience sufficient to govern security delivery and validate implementation decisions made by the team.

  • Programming experience in at least one language, Python preferred — sufficient to step in, review code, and contribute when needed. Not required to be a primary coder.

  • Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm — deploy, release, and manage containerised applications in production, including CI/CD pipeline ownership in a cloud-native context.

Awareness

  • Platform engineering concepts — API gateway design, event-driven systems, marketplace architecture, and multi-tenant SaaS patterns. Sufficient to scope, sequence, and govern delivery of platform capabilities.

  • Observability and event standards — what the platform must emit and instrument, from a delivery governance lens. Security and IAM concepts beyond OAuth sufficient to validate decisions; Platform Architect owns depth.

  • PLG and self-serve patterns — understanding of signup, onboarding, trial, and billing flows sufficient to manage delivery of commercial platform features.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience delivering a platform with audit, billing, or marketplace capabilities — directly relevant to the Platform Team’s commercial layer and agent marketplace work.

  • AI-native SDLC — familiarity with Human-led Agentic SDLC practices and how they affect platform delivery, testing, and release cadence when downstream consumers are AI agents.

  • Azure certification demonstrating cloud platform depth. Financial close or R2R domain experience to accelerate ramp-up on the business context the platform serves.

What You’ll Learn & Gain

  • Full delivery ownership of a foundational platform team on a live enterprise financial product — every capability you ship is consumed by AI agent teams building on top of it, with direct visibility into how your delivery sequencing shapes product outcomes.

  • Deep exposure to platform engineering at the infrastructure layer — IAM, multi-tenancy, event orchestration, governance, billing, and marketplace — in a production environment where reliability, security, and scalability are non-negotiable.

  • Experience governing engineering quality and delivery in a high-compliance, SOX-governed environment — balancing platform velocity with the stability requirements of downstream stream teams that depend on your foundations.

  • Cross-stream leadership experience — managing dependencies, aligning delivery sequencing, and coordinating with Agent Stream and Intelligence Stream engineering managers and architects in a fast-moving, multi-stream product organisation.

If you are an engineering leader who thrives in a foundational delivery role — technically grounded, delivery-disciplined, and ready to own the platform that an enterprise AI product is built on — we encourage you to apply.
